My 1999 Toyota 4 runner, V6 automatic with 144,000 miles hesitates on acceleration. It's okay going down the road, but once you've stopped at a light, when you accelerate there's nothing there, then it catches and your fine. It doesn't do it at every stop, but at times it can be really bad, it take awhile to catch and start moving. It's been doing it for about a year and getting extremely worse. I had just had my garage mechanic replace the injectors, and a new filter in the transmission last week. He can't figure it out and thinks maybe the computer is bad. A rebuilt Engine was also put in 4 months ago and replaced the radiator. I hope you can help, this vehicle has costed me a fortune in repairs. I want to trade it in, I need to get it running 1st.

I think i may have the same issue with my 2000. I just posted above. Mine idles fine, and only does it once I hit the gas. Heard any replies to your question? Thanks, good luck. Hopefully won't be big bucks.

been digging around online and think the issue might be the heating element in one of the o2 sensors.

May want to check for codes and see if that will tip the diagnosis direction.

MY IDEA THAT MAY HELP: DO THE TUNE-UP,REPLACE PLUGS,CAP WIRES,ROTOR,FUEL FILTER,FLUSHING INJECTOR SYSTEM THEN CHECK THE TIMING,THIS MAY CAUSE BY EARLY OR RETARD TIMING THAT CAUSED BACKFIRE OR LOST POWER WHEN ACCELERATE,DONT FORGET TO CHECK FUEL PRESSURE IT MUST BE IN SPECS,GOOD LUCK.[quote:94159f5063="bkh"]My 1999 Toyota 4 runner, V6 automatic with 144,000 miles hesitates on acceleration.
