1998 Toyota 4Runner Installing KYB-Monomax Front Shocks!

I wish to install 2 front KYB-Monomax shocks on my 1998 Toyota 4Runner SR5 3.4Litre V-6. Will I be able to take out the old ones and put in the new shocks without a spring compressor? The shocks are located inside the coil springs. Thank you.

yes, just remember DO NOT remove the tie string on the new shocks, until the bottom is bolted in place, and you guide top in as the shock extends. Extreme pressure on KYB shocks makes it tough if you dont do it this way!

Yes I do know about the Tie Strings on KYB's. I put them in the rear of this SUV. Other web sites said I would need a wall compressor in order to properly install the KYB-Monomax inside the Coil Springs. And I would have to have another alignment. I've looked at the coils and it appears they should slip in from the bottom. With a little wiggle. I was told to make sure that I mark the 3 Top Bolts so they go back properly on the install. Do you agree? Are you in Las Vegas, NV. I'd pay you for the install. I ordered them Friday night, and might get them by Wednesday. Also where and how do I donate money on this site. No I'm in Mass...should try to get it all back together the way the old ones came out! Don't cut the string till they are ready to be guided in!
