During winter months(last three years), my transmission does not seem to shift into overdrive until driving betwen 2 to 10 miles. A reputable trans. shop just told me that the torque converter is not going into full lockup.
They indicated that the vehicle computer prevents this when the engine is cold. The engine does warm up-the temp guage is in the midle and i get heat from the vehicle cabin heater all within 1 mile. What would be the possible problem? My radiator and t stat are new(leaks). The problem occured previously with the old radiator and t stat. Also, The trans shop serviced the trans, It was due.
P.S. I'm new to your site, What should a typical donation be? Thanks.
