I have a 1993 4 runner with about 100,000 miles on a v-6. 4 wheel drive automatic. About 2 years ago the engine started missing and running real bad. I had the heads planed because I seen a small water leak between the head and block. Put it back together and it still ran bad. Took it to the local dealer and they wanted $400 to fix a couple minor things before they would put it on diagonistic machine. (Not gonna happen) sent it to another mechanic and he found a bad valve, so off with the heads again and back to machine shop. After 6 new valves and 2 new cams new plugs wires dis. cap and everything it now idles fine but has no power to drive. I don't think the advance is working but is there a sensor that would cause that or part of the computer? Please help it has been off the road for 2 years now and have stuck a lot of money in it and really need to get this fixed.

whos the one that put the heads back together?.....whos this mechanic that did the heads the 2nd time....is it a shop that u pay 'em market driven price to fix ur car or some guy claims to be a mechanic??....i know for sure...a competent shop that put it together won't let a car get out without a test drive ...and also a fact..they won't try not to figure y with no pwr without trying to sell u more service or if that was their problem during installation.....any other good friend good deals or insider saturday nite special will be under the category of 'u get what u pay for'...
