1991 4Runner 3vz-E Engine Timing Belt/Water Pump Replacement

Hi there,

This is a fairly straight forward job, but it will take you a few hrs to complete. Take the usual precautions while doing this type of job, Battery disconnected, remove the spark plugs so you can rotate the engine easily, highlight your timing marks with white out marker so there is no mistake with locating marks (cams at 12-00 Hrs) as is notch on crank shaft pulley. Don't rotate engine with cam shaft bolts. When fitted rotate engine in normal direction of rotation for 2 full revolutions and check timing marks, release tensioner and re tighten again, this will help settle the belt in. Rotate 1 further revolution re check timing marks and all should be well.

if you get the belt at toyota the belt is marked, replace the pullys also, the mark on the crank is a dot for me 40 min job
