oil filter housing adapter torque specs needed

If you are referring to where the o-ring is located, no. Make sure the surfaces are clean. Also, lubricate the o-ring with oil before you install it.

I hope everything turns out okay. If you have a chance, let me know the outcome or if you have other questions.

Remember, no RTV on the o-ring, make sure the surfaces are clean, and pre-lubricate the o-ring.

First off i would like to start out by thanking you for previous help. Unfortunately I am at my wits end with this issue. I cannot be the first who has run across this problem with a the oil filter adapter housing on a 06 Hyundai Azera leaking in this manner. It is now the third time i have broken down and put back together and still it leaks, the leak is even worse off now then last time and many times worse than the original leak that promoted the tear down to begin with. I even went and pulled one from the salvage yard thinking the original might possibly be warped. I torqued all the bolts on the adapter to the block to spec as well as the bolts that hold the oil cooler door onto the adapter itself. After many hours put into fixing this issue for the third time and still it leaks, and i mean bad. Is there something that i am missing here or do you possibly know anything that could help? I have replaced the gaskets to the oil filter adapter housing (5 total gaskets on the housing itself as well as the intake gaskets to the heads and plenum). any help would be greatly appreciated and i thank you for your time as well. Have you replaced all the o-rings? Were they lubricated with oil prior to installation? Are you certain it is the housing that is leaking and not the oil pressure sensor or oil temp sensor?

It is definitely leaking from the in between the adapter and the block on the transmission side of the engine. I can visually see the bubbling as it leaks and runs down and out the back. I did oil the gaskets the first time and i still had a leak, although it was the slowest of the three times i took it all apart. The second time i used silicon in an attempt to try and seal around the gasket. I was careful to properly apply it to the outer edges only. It was after this second attempt that initially contacted you. It still leaked. The third and last time i once again used silicon. I'm guessing that was incorrect as per your reply. The engine definitely has signs that it has been worked on in the past, I'm certain heads were removed at some point, there are even a few bolts missing. I'll send a few pics. Should I only use oil to lube the gaskets just before I install the oil adapter? The first two pics are of the suspected missing bolts, the second is showing the area it leaks from and the last is the leak from when i first initially took it apart.

Hi,

Before you put it together again, confirm the adapter and where it mounts are flat and not warped. Since you have already done everything, I have a feeling that is the problem. Something must be warped.
