Is the torque converter the same for 2wd and Awd?

Do you know if any special tools are needed when removing the transmission on this car? I had my shares of engine and transmissions, so I am very handy. Shifting is excellent but the shutter won't stop. I have to change the converter.

It does not appear to require any special tools.
I have attached the transmission removal procedure below.
