I bought 1998 Toyota camry 2.2L engine, I would like to know that Auto lock system is installed or not. I got some broken Key less entry remotes from previous owner, still want to make sure before I purchase new Key less entry remote and how to locate that system in the car?

Thank you,

There really isn't anything to locate. There might be a separate computer module for the remote keyless entry system, but part of the system is incorporated into other computers too. The best approach is to visit the dealer. Their mechanic will connect a scanner that will communicate with the computer if there is one on your car. That will also allow him to program new remotes to your car.

On a few car models you can program the remotes yourself by pressing certain switches in a specific order and time. The information on how to do that is found in the manufacturer's service manual, it might be in the owner's manual, and you can do an internet search for the instructions. If you search on eBay for a service manual or remote key fob, you might also find the instructions in one of the listings. That's how I recently knew how to program new remotes to the used truck my cousin just bought.
