Put the spare on the sound disappeared, bought a new tire and same thing happened, noise then it went flat.

Has there been any recent issue with the wheel like hitting a pot hole or curb? The only thing that really makes sense is an issue with the wheel. So either it is not sealing or it is porous and is allowing air out.
The way to find this is to fill the tire with air and then use soapy water all over the tire and wheel to try and find where it is loosing air. Or if you have one of those blue kid pools you can submerge the tire and look for bubbles.
