I started to hear a brief rattling noise about half the time I started the vehicle. I didn’t know where it was coming from, and I checked my oil, and it was full. A couple days later I noticed sluggishness in acceleration when I entered the freeway. Took the car into a Kia dealership. They diagnosed the issue as being a bad timing chain tensioner. I paid $4,300 to have it replaced. When I picked up the vehicle from the service center, I heard the same rattling noise, a less than one second rattle when I started it. So, my situation is the same. I hear the same rattling about 60% - 70% of the time when I start the vehicle.
My question is, should I still be hearing this rattling after they “repaired” my vehicle by replacing the timing chain tensioner?
