Timing belt/chain

This will be an easy one for you. This is a timing chain for this engine, so it only needs to be replaced if there is a reason to replace it. There are no maintenance intervals on chains.

So, with it being a chain driven engine, is it not interference? That's what I'm worried about. I'm looking at putting it on the street some days for 9 to 12 hours. I don't mind if the chain breaks or slips, so long as I don't have to replace the engine due to smashed valves and pistons.

And this is just one more reason I prefer a Toyota over Honda. Yes, I know it's a "Chevy," but we both know it's a Corolla. That's why I bought the thing. Chain instead of a belt. Cheaper to maintain and more reliable. Might produce 3hp less, but well worth it to me.
