Hello. I have a 1995 Mazda 626, automatic 2.0L (4-Cyl.).
Was driving the other day and car just shut off. Found that the timing belt broke, so I replaced timing belt as per car repair manual and followed instructions to the T.
Put car back together, now it wont start, but the engine does turn.
Myself, my brother (a mechanic), and a local shop checked all normal engine inputs, it has: 1) enough fire 2) no issues with air flow or vacuum 3) has fuel and correct fuel pressure 4) the timing belt is installed properly and the timing is set correctly 5) the engine is grounded.
Could it be the valves bent (is that possible on this particular model) ? How do I check to verify that before replacing ?
What would cause this no-start situation if the valves are "not" the issue ?
The car ran perfectly before the timing belt broke and had no other symptoms of any kind.
