Hello, I am Danny.

Yes, there is a wear/drain hole in the bottom of the water pump that releases water from the cooling system when the water pump is worn/defective/broke. I have attached a link and pictures showing you what is involved. Hope this helps and feel free to ask questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

You must turn the crankshaft or camshaft by using the balancer or camshaft sprocket mounting bolt. Here is a guide that shows the marks to help:

Look toward the bottom.

Please run down this guide and report back.

Hello again.

The bolt the holds the Crankshaft Pulley is torqued extremely high (150-200 ft. lbs.) So a Pneumatic Impact gun or a hand tool ratchet with a large breaker bar will be needed to break it loose. As far as having a tooth missing that will need to be replaced before reassembly. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

If it does not unbolt which it looks like from the picture it is pressed on from the factory just remove the bolts around the housing and the pump will come off. If I am off base here please send a picture or video of what you are talking about.

The tension-er just unbolts with a signal bolt in the center. If not can you upload a picture of what you are talking about?
