Hello,

This vehicle with the 2.5L engine is equipped with a timing chain, not a timing belt.

I have attached the water pump as well as the timing chain replacement procedures below.
In order to replace the water pump, you will have to remove the exhaust manifold to have proper access.

Here is a helpful guide on the best practices of any water pump removal:

I have attached the water pump as well as the timing chain replacement procedures below.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Hey Sean,

I appreciate the quick reply and details. I'm curious the pictures you sent has a turbo, mine is not - would I still need to take off the exhaust to access pump?
Thanks

The diagrams/instructions that I have uploaded are for the 2.5L non turbo engine.
You can see the engine size on just about every image.

And yes, it does call for the removal of the exhaust to be able to replace the water pump.

Thank you, since there is a chain and no belt it's not required to replace the chain for life of the car I'm told, Belt is 100,000 but chain is not required? I am planning on just replacing the serpentine belt and tensioners along with the water pump and thermostat.
Any other replacements required at the 110,000 mark?
Thanks

That is correct, the timing chain is not a maintenance item like the timing belt.

Take a look at the chart below, it shows the recommended maintenance around that mileage.
Most of the recommended items are at 120K miles mark.
