Buying the car l;listed above. Guy says his pal who is a mechanic fitted a new timing belt for twenty eight pounds three months ago, but did not replace any pulley's or anything. Is it possible to this that cheap and is it a good idea only to do the belt? Said the mechanic told him the rest looked in good condition.

Replacing a belt only is never a good idea, there is no reason for not replacing all the pulleys as well, they may not be noisy now, but they will be worn and when they start to growl. you have to do all that work to get into them to replace them, good mechanics work to an ethic, do it once do it right!
