Okay, so I changed the timing belt and the second belt put it back together and it jumped time. so i changed the top sprocket because the key way broke in it. put a new one on it did the same process all over again. set the timing and all started it up and now it acts like it is idling itself up and down on it and when i put it in gear it acts like it is not getting gas. what could it be?

Welcome to 2CarPros!

If the timing was set incorrectly or the belt jumped time while the engine was running, it's very possible one or more valves contacted the pistons. When this happens, it typically bends the valve stem to the point where it is no longer able to properly seal against the seat. The extra load on the valve train from this contact may have likely caused the sprocket key-way to fail as well. At this point, I would perform a quick compression test to determine if any of the valves are bent or damaged. For reference, the minimum compression spec for this engine is 135 psi with no more than 28 psi difference from cylinder to cylinder.

Here is a quick video tutorial on performing a compression test:

The compression was a range of 152-155 on each cylinder.
