Timing specs and procedure needed

I will more likely to in touch again, these diagrams have me more confused than before. I have a Chilton on the way in mail, but was hoping you guys could get me started quicker, like, 5 deg. btdc,..or what. set idle speed to what ever,..unplug auto advance vacuum line... got to get a gauge to let me know what my idle speed is. oh, my head is hurting,...lol

Haha. Totally understand. I wish setting timing was a little easier but unfortunately if we don't follow this process, it most likely won't come out correct.
