crankshaft position sensor and crank position timing

Hi,

I'm sorry, but this vehicle isn't offered in the US, so I don't have specifics on it. The 1.4L isn't available here. However, If I recall correctly, I read the intake manifold needs removed to access it. I tried to find pics online. I found one. Take a look at it. If I am correct, that is under the intake manifold and there is a coolant line blocking it as well. There should be a rubber or plastic cover over the opening. The sensor is down inside.

Yes, the sensor is inside between gearbox and engine. I've opened it and did a number of setting but still nothing.

Are you getting spark to the plugs?

Yes I have spark.

Are you getting fuel? Will it start for a couple seconds if you use starting fluid? If you have spark, it should run unless there is a fuel issue. Most vehicles I deal with simply requires the crank sensor to be mounted. Some require setting a gap between the sensor and reluctor wheel, but timing is never done with a sensor.

Do me a favor, check to see if it will start for a couple seconds using starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, there is a fuel related issue. If it doesn't start or even try to start, record the engine while cranking and upload it for me to hear.
