after replacing intake gaskets i cannot get the distributor to set right

I replaced intake gaskets and cannot seem to get the distributor set right. also, when if ran at idle it died all on its own. I did not touch it, shift it nothing.

you need a scanner to get distributor set to correct position if you did not mark it. a mechanic will have to do it with a scanner.
