Timing belt broke replaced, started and ran fine. Put the car back together and it will only run if you stay on the gas. Do you have to reset the computer after all this?

No you do not have to reset the computer. Is the check engine light coming on?

Valve timing could be one tooth off on belt.

It could have jumped after the initial timing. does it have a hydraulic tensor for the timing belt?

Yes check engine light is on, but it says done. The tensor is doing loaded. I got the timing set right and it started ran great, but I put everything back together it wont run.

I ask this question because a mechanic I know said you have to reset the computer and wants to charge me $35.00 to do this.

The tensor is spring loaded.

You said the check engine light is on. what are the exact code numbers not code descriptions you have? I have done a lot of timing belts also on that engine I have not run across having to reset the computer after replacing the belt. that is also amazing you did not bend any valves from the belt breaking.
