i was driving and i heard a ticking. i had a feeling i knew what it was so i went to put a quart of oil in it and it stopped. then i drove for another five miles and it came back and it started getting real sluggish, then i heard a loud bang and i already knew what happened. When i got home i checked all around the engine and i saw no physical damage to the outside. Would this sill be repairable? what would be the next step?

Hello,

If you are suspecting a thrown connecting rod the best course of action would be to get your vehicle up on jack stands, drain the oil and inspect the oil for any metal debris like bearing damage. Next would be to remove your vehicle's oil pan and gain access to the crankshaft and connecting rods that way for an inspection. Please get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex
