Okay, I know it's an old econobox car. The engine is in basically pristine condition. Doesn't use any oil, even at 5k-ish miles after a change. Runs smoothly. But I want to see what I can do to help throttle response. Yes, it'll give me a bit better acceleration, which is always nice, but the way I use this car (heavy stop and go conditions), it should give me a small bump in fuel economy too.
So basically, I just want some cheap or, better yet, free suggestions on how to help the response.
Once it gets going, it goes well. In a moment of sheer stupidity recently, I held the gas pedal down when no one was around on the interstate and the needle went well past the 110mph top number on the speedometer. Don't worry, I'll not do that again. It was a bit scary. So, it's just a matter of getting it off the line that's excruciatingly slow.
