Hello. I recently been having problems lately and i discovered that the throttle body is leaking gas into the air filter. How can i fix the leaking gas in the throttle body? And if so, can you show me a diagram of what i need to clean or replace please?

Thank you.

Hi,

That is an interesting one. The throttle body will have a vacuum drawing air inward when the engine is running. So, it must be coming from somewhere else.

I do need you to check something. On the fuel rail, you will find the fuel pressure regulator. There will be a rubber vacuum hose going to it. With the engine off, disconnect the vacuum hose and see if there is any evidence of fuel in it.

Also, let me know what types of problems you are experiencing and if you checked for diagnostic trouble codes. The vehicle has an OBD1 system and doesn't require a scanner. All you need is a short jumper wire or even a paper clip. Follow the directions in this link:

Let me know what you find. Also, I attached a pic of the fuel rail and highlighted the regulator. Note: I am assuming this is a 3.1L V6 and not a 1.0L 4cyl. They only offered the 3.1L V6 and a 3.8L V6. Please confirm I have the correct engine.

I will watch for your reply.

Take care,

Joe
