Throttle body / computer?

Thanks Ken. While I don’t have the specific codes, here’s what we’ve gathered:
The original code indicated something was faulty with the Accelerator pedal position sensor. Upon attempting to install the pedal assembly, further check indicated possibly the throttle body assembly. Then even further testing showed faults in the Body control module.

There is an underlying concern presenting itself as a pedal assembly, however there is something going on with the computer.

This is for a 2011 Compass, so if it is the "computer" (which I’m not entirely sure what that means, is it the "mainframe"? Sounds expensive?), how much would that cost roughly with used part/s and labor? Why would this part go awry? I haven’t heard of this. The car has 106k miles. Could it possibly be caused in part by rodents nesting in the engine cabin? This was an issue earlier last year. Again, thank you so much for your help! Your expertise is very much appreciated!

Yes, it can be a rodent problem which is common but to me it sounds like the TIPM has gone out which is a big problem with these cars. It is easy to replace because it-self learns. here is the location of the part and how to replace it in the diagrams below but a CAN scan would be helpful to confirm the failure. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

It takes about .5 hours to replace and the shop rate please the parts price which rebuilt you can find for about $400.00 and new for about $800.00.
