Codes P1440 and P1443

Hiya. I'm a woman and most think we have no clue but I hope someone can help me.
Car started rough idling and bouncing mad so cleaned throttle body and changed EGR valve as the old mount holding it snapped when being removed. Anyway, got a new one and put it all back together but now the car has another problem...
It idles at 1,100-1,200 RPMs, bearing in mind my normal idle was about 400-600 RPMs. I plugged a vag in and came back with codes P1440 + P1443 for a peridiometer fault.
How can i fix this? Someone? Anyone. Need car for school run..
Tia guys.

PS. EGR valve, mount and gaskets all new.

Hello,

It sounds like you either have a wiring issue at the EGR valve potentiometer or further down the line towards the ECU.
Did you carry out an adaptation process after you installed the new EGR valve?
If your scan tool is bi-directional then you could perform an Output Test to check if the EGR valve is responding

If possible also perform a throttle body adaptation with your scan tool, this could sort your high idle:

Potentiometer for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (G212) faulty

Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Potentiometer for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (G212)
Check/Replace Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve (N18)
Perform Output Test
Check Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) System
