My car goes no faster than 20mph. I have a code reader and it says it is the throttle body. What do I need to do to check it?

That code is indicating that the position is not matching the pedal position. That can be caused by the throttle actuator, the wiring or the PCM. Most of the time it will be the throttle actuator.
