throttle issue

I was having throttle issues, losing power from time to time for short bursts. this went of for a month or two I guess. then the throttle went totally out. truck would idle but no throttle. cables are good so I changed the throttle position sensor. that fixed the problem. I could drive around town at slow speeds. when I got out of town speeds 55+ the throttle stuck. I put the truck in neutral and shut it off. when I turned the truck back on I was back to no throttle. I guess the sensor is fried. I looked at my fuses and they seemed to be just fine.

do you think it was a bad part? what do I need to look at? I would take it to a mechanic but I am way out in the bush in Alaska and that is not an option.
