How do i test the canister vent solenoid: if i put the positive lead of multimeter on the pin 1 of canister vent solenoid and negative lead on the pin2 of canister vent solenoid, am i correct?

Good morning! I have tested the Canister Vent Solenoid and it reads 58.2ohms, check resistance on the power side, tested okay, also check on ground side, tested okay, then I did voltage check on the same power side (red wire) it reads:12.57 volts and the ground side (pink/white wire) it didn't read voltage. then I set the multimeter to ohm scale since it came direct from ECM, it reads 05.06ohms. Is anything remaining?

Battery voltage is supplied to the vent solenoid with the key on. The ground side is grounded by the ECM when the evap test is initiated.

When the ECM grounds it, the solenoid closes and will not vent air from the tank.

You need a scan tool that can turn the solenoid on and off. That is the way to check it. Checking the ohms is not a test at all. You need voltage checks looking for commands.

I attached some information for you to view. This valves sticks in the open position not allowing the evap system to complete its testing. Very common failure.

Again, you will need a scan tool for testing this valve.
