the running lights come on when i turn the key on & the vehicle keeps running when i keep the lights bvuit turn the key off

The running lights(tail lights, sidelights & front marker lights) come on when turn the ignition key on & the

vehicle also keeps running when the headlights are on after I turn the ignition off.

check the wires under the dash to see if any are worn or crossed. The only other thing I would check would be the ignition switch itself not making the proper connection or bad.
