The battery light turns on and off?

I took my car to an AutoZone for the battery light being on and he had me turn my car off and on and then said it read that my alternator was producing zero power and i was only running off my battery, but the light comes off and on randomly and my car still doesn't show any symptoms of low to no power.

Yep, that is true it can take a while for the system to run down especially when the problem is intermittent. Here is a guide to help confirm the non-charging issue and I have included how to change the alternator our in the images below.
