Temperature gauge not working, code p0117

I recently had my water pump replaced and everything seemed fine. now my temperature gauge doesn’t want to read. I replaced the coolant temperature sensor and thermostat and it worked for a day then stopped working again. The code I have is p0117.

The code is showing a fault in the coolant temperature circuit. Here is a tutorial showing how to test wiring:
