The tilt works fine. When I attempt to move the steering wheel in or out, it doesn't work. I hear a clicking sound, like a relay, close to the steering column. After hearing the relay clicking sound, I hear nothing. I assume if it the problem was a worn plastic gear, I would hear the sound of the motor running. I checked fuse #7 (10A) and it is good. Are there other fuses I should check? A little bit of the back story. Many electrical functions stopped working, such as backup camera, navigation, telescopic steering adjust (but not electric tilt), keyless start, FOB functions such as opening locks, trunk, etc. I believe this was caused by the driver's door handle causing a short and taking out fuse 7. I had read online that the touch sensor in the door handle will often short due to water penetration through a failed door handle seal. In the process of diagnosing the fuse 7 issue, I removed the inner front driver's door liner and disconnected the electrical connections. I installed a new 10A fuse in slot 7, started the car, and everything now functions except the telescopic steering. Based on this, I am in the process of replacing the door handle. However, the telescopic issue appears to be a separate problem at this moment not solved from fixing a the #7 blown fuse situation. Is there a way to determine if the telescopic issue is electrical or mechanical and figure out the cause of the problem?

If you hear it clicking it probably means the electrical is okay and the motor is burned out. To be sure this guide shows how the system works and how to run some tests to confirm the motor failure. Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
