Have a code U0101 which points to the TCM Being bad. I’ve been told on this model with a 2.0 the ECU does the job of a TCM. Does my car have a separate TCM?

This code is just pointing you to a TCM due to it not communicating on the bus network.

So that could be a module or a wiring issue, so I am attaching the info about this code and system.

The TCM is located on the driver side of the engine compartment.
