Good evening,

The solenoid is part of the solenoid pack on top of the valve body inside the transmission.

I attached a picture for you.

Why do you think this is required? It is not a common failure at all.

Do you have a code?

Yes, P0741 TCC solenoid circuit performance or stuck off.

Sorry, I had tried posting a long form question a few times but it never went through. so here is more info:

In cold temperatures (below freezing ) transmission takes a long time to shift into reverse or drive, usually 5 seconds or so but has taken up to 30-45 in really cold weather (-25c).

Once driving its pretty good except it slips going into third until its fully warmed up, then it drives just fine.

I’ve read these solenoids can become dirty and cleaned or replaced and is often a fix for the condition I am experiencing. If it was a relatively accessible part I figured it was worth giving cleaning a try.

Okay, first, there is no cleaning these solenoids.

I would have the fluid changed and the filter as well. A clogged filter will cause the delays that have as well as the code.

The code is for the circuit, not the solenoid itself. I attached the flow chart for the code.

Hey Roy,

Thank you this is great. So I had a flush done with the machine but they didn't do the filter, I will have to look further into that.

I tried looking up the transaxle connector location but cannot find anything. Also I gave it my best shot to find it on the tranny but cant find it, it may be burried. I appreciate the help and dont mean to keep pestering but do you happen to have a reference for the location of the connector.

Thanks

You are welcome.

There is a wiring harness that goes into the transmission itself. That is the connector you have to disconnect.
