Tapping or knocking noise after starting vehicle from front passenger foot well

Tapping or knocking noise after starting vehicle from front passenger foot well area. The noise seems to occur everytime I start the car whether I had heat/air conditioning on last time I was in the vehicle or not. It makes the tapping noise 4/5 times then stops. Also, the temperature on the interior display panel is not accurate for either the interior or outside temperature. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated? Thank you!
