My wife’s SUV the tag lights do not work (I have installed new bulbs) and also the third brake light will not work. All other rear lights work. Can someone please help me? I have checked the fuses that I thought were the right one and it was fine. Thanks in advance!

Good morning.

Look at the wiring for the tag lights at the socket. if the rear parking lights work, then the problem is right back where the socket is located. look for any broken wires or loose connections.

As far as the third light, check the bulb and the socket. common for the socket to melt from the heat generated from the bulb working.

Check the "VEH CHMSL" fuse in the left I/P fuse block, located behind lower left side of dash. That is for the third brake light.

Thanks Roy, as for the third brake light I bought a whole new light assembly it is an LED one. I hooked it up and still get nothing. But all other rear lights work except for the third and tag lights. I have checked all the connections and wires and there is no frays or bad connections to the sockets. I am totally wrecking my brain as to what it could be. Thanks Roy.

you are welcome. if you have a test light verify power to the third light socket. if no power, check the fuse.

VEH CHMSL in the fuse box. use a test light and make sure it has power on both sides with the brakes applied.
