Hello, on my car the speedometer and tachometer only works sometimes. and it feels like it has lost its get up and go. as in when i try to really step on gas pedal it does not take off like a car should if that makes any sense.

The first place to start would be to retrieve the codes from the PCM (powertrain control module). Also retrieve codes from the instrument cluster module. You may have either a vehicle speed sensor faulty, or your instrument cluster is faulty. Let us know what code retrieved and we can go from there.

Here is a guide to help you retrieve the codes:

And the CAN scan:

Please run down these guides and report back.

The fact that both the speedometer and tachometer do not work some times points to the cluster itself.

Take a look at these attachments. More then likely there is an issue with the circuit board or connections at the cluster. The speedometer and tach are part of the same assembly. So the fact that both stopped working points to the cluster because while they are part of the same assembly they get their signal from separate places. The speedometer gets it from the speed sensor. The tachometer gets its signal from the PCM. The only thing they have in common is the cluster.
