Car has low torque when i first press the accelerator wont even pass a speed bump without a little head start and the tachometer is also not working. i did notice the other day that the overdrive light went off and the tachometer started working again and the torque came back. this went on for a few minutes soon after the overdrive light started flashing again and lost torque again.

This sounds like a possible speed sensor issue or even a throttle position sensor but we need to start with codes because there are a lot of possible causes and we don't have enough to go on yet.

Here is a guide on how to check for codes or you can stop by a parts store that does this and they will get the codes free of charge:

Let me know what you find and we can go from there. Thanks

So I have checked the codes on the vehicle and they are as follows:

P0708
P1131
P0117
P0755
P1445

Also I have noticed the negative battery cable gets really hot in sure there is a ground issues also can that cause some of these codes?

P0708 - Transmission Range sensor is open
P0755 - Shift Solenoid Electrical malfunction
P0117 - Sensor signal voltage is low
P1445 - Purge Flow sensor circuit issue

Based on these codes it appears you have a wiring issue with the transmission. I would start with running through these DTCs diag steps and see where it leads you then update me on what you find and we can go from there. Thanks

Sorry. Here are the couple of sheets needed. I thought I looked at that but clearly didn't provide it.
