Switches out of 4x4 by itself?

For years my truck will switch from 2wd to 4wh by itself but only when I'm braking (Periodically). It will not switch back unless I turn it off and restart it. I replaced the 4x4 dash switch. The 4wd works too. Again, it has been doing this for at least 7 years.

This sounds like a weak encoder motor which is common. here is the location of the unit and how to change it out also I have included the transferase wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.
