Does this car have it? Where can I find a list of cars using waste-spark ignition systems. I'm considering investing in "hydrogen from water" add-on systems most of which indicate incompatibility with cars using waste-spark ignition. If all late model cars use this type of spark ignition system, this might not be a good investment or I may have to search for a hydrogen from water supplemental system that is compatible with waste-spark ignition. Can you help me? Thanks - Dave

This ignition system does not use a conventional distributor and coil. It uses a crankshaft position sensor input to the Engine Control Module (ECM).
The ECM then determines Electronic Spark Timing (EST) and triggers the electronic ignition system ignition coil.
These systems use the EST signal from the ECM to control the EST. The ECM uses the following information:
Engine load (manifold pressure or vacuum).
Atmospheric (barometric) pressure.
Engine temperature.
Intake air temperature.
Crankshaft position.
Engine speed (rpm).
Electronic Ignition System Ignition Coil
The Electronic Ignition (EI) system ignition coils are mounted directly to the spark plugs. Each El system ignition coils provide the spark for the spark plugs. The EI system ignition coils are not serviceable and must be replaced as an assembly.
