1989 Suzuki Sidekick Four Wheel Drive Manual

The manifold keeps turning red when i can get it to start. I have replaced most of the fuel system and a computer in it. But now i cant get it to start and today it started and within 2 minutes the manifold was red hot and smoking, the engine and radiator did not even have time to get warm!

Temporarily disconnect the exhaust pipe on the exhaust manifold if it continues to glow check the pressure regulator if its leaking if not could be the catalytic converter.

89 TBI 8v

1: injector o-rings cracked.
2: ECU is going to Limphome mod.
this mode happens when you have a gross problem with motor, sensors or actuators. and ECU drops to rich and retarded ignition timing.


3: clogged cat con.

4: as stated too high fuel pressure.

Is your check engine lamp on , running?
