Battery or Starter? 95 Sidekick

[stavy1129]went to start my car, and have not had any problems or symptoms with this before. When I turned the key, nothing happened. No clicks, no buzzing, no cranking...just nothing. if the car sits for a while when I first try to start, I hear 1 click at front firewall , drivers side. There is also a electrical noise heard somewhere around front left side of engine, above solunoid and alternator wiring that enters engine. So I tried jumping the car. Still nothing. The headlights, wipers, etc., are all working as they were before without problems.
I have a 1995 suzuki sidekick JLX with 60,000 miles, its also a 16 valve engine. [email protected]
