2005 Suzuki Forenza timing belt-(knicks on engine head)

car stopped when turning into service station,triple a towed it home. car towed to mechanic in area who stated it probaly was a broken timing belt. then stated when i came that belt was not broken. that i had knicks on my engine head.can you see the engine or do you take it out to see knicks. after car there it only took them 1-1/2 hours to check this.i thought it was ignition switch causing ticking noise. please help me ,i find it hard to beleive you can check an engine in so short a time and want $700-$800 to repair it.

Hi there,

This so called mechanic is having you on, it takes a few minutes to check the timing belt and the nicks in the head is just so much rubbish, tow it out of there and find a mechanic who cares about you and your car.
