When driving on the snow or ice if I'm going downhill and when I'm stopping, I start to slide and the axel clunks?

As far as stopping, could it be the ABS is being actuated? As far as the turning, a failing CV joint will usually make a clicking sound. Do you notice anything like that?

Inspect the CV joint boots for evidence of a leak. See if any of the boots are torn and leaking grease.

You're describing the sound and feel of when the anti-lock brakes kicks in to prevent a tire from skidding. ABS is an add-on option to the standard base brake system. Not all cars have it. When you do have ABS, (anti-lock brakes), you can have another optional system added to that. It's "traction control". You'll have a yellow warning light on the dash that likely will flash on for a few seconds when the system is doing its thing. It applies the brakes independently to stop a tire from spinning when you're accelerating. Both of these systems go unused on both of my Chrysler vehicles during the summer, but come winter and snow and ice on the ground, they kick in quite often and make the common buzzing and clunking sounds. The fact you don't hear this when the roads are dry points to this being normal operation. If something else is causing the clunking, it is much more likely to occur on dry pavement when the loads on the parts are higher.

Does this sound like I have a correct assessment, or do we need to look into this further?

Hi brother Joe. I got distracted and took a while to post this. I'd be quite pleased to sit on the sidelines in case you need my wondrous wisdom.

Not the ABS, no light is blinking. It feels like my axle isn't stable. When I'm going down the hill and it's Icey and I'll try and stop my wheel keeps turning causing a clunking coming from my left tire.it basically feels like the axel is still spinning even when I'm trying to stop. The shop said they don't see anything wrong with my axel but I'm wondering if it could be something internal or something wrong with where the axel actually sits in.

As far as the axle is concerned, it may not be fully installed. However, I feel that would be noticeable at all times.

Do you only hear the clunking when the brakes are applied? Is it loud enough for you to record and upload for me to hear?

When turning left and right like down a street i hear A clunk coming from the axel. and it only clunks when slipping on ice it feels like my axel still keeps rolling even though I'm trying to brake. And also, when I'm driving at slow speeds and I'm turning in a parking lot or reversing, and I have my wheel turned all the way, it feels like my left tire is moving side to side almost like it wants to fall off. I can possibly get a video of it.

A video would be very helpful. If it feels like the wheel is going side to side, make sure it is tight. Also, lift the wheel off the ground and check if there is play in a ball joint. Place your hands at 6 and 12 o'clock and try to wiggle it to see if there is play. Also, check for loosens in a tie-rod by doing the same thing with your hands at 3 and 9 o'clock.
