Rough idle check engine light on

Has issue when my car is idling. Also, check engine light is on.
Mechanic told me something broken on the engine.

When engine still cold ( about five minutes after started engine) I do not feel it
But when it is hot. Suffering when car is idle.

Is engine has crack or something wrong?

It is hard to know what is wrong without knowing the trouble code(s) stored in the computer. When the engine light is on, it is telling you that there is at least one trouble code stored. If you do not know what the code is, then take the car to AutoZone/Advance Auto and get it scanned. Come back here with the code(s).

Here is the good news though, since it runs good when cold, I doubt it is a serious problem. Likely just a sensor or some other small problem.

If you decide you would like to conduct the scan yourself as HEYMAN1104 suggested in his post, here is a link to an article from this site that features written step by step instructions and pictures explaining how to do the scan yourself. Also, I have included a link to our YouTube channel with a how to video on code scanning.

This is applicable even if your check engine light is not on.

Most scanners are inexpensive to purchase, you can purchase one online from sites like Amazon.com
