how do I change valve cover gasket and leaky spark plug seals on 2001 outback? any special tools or know
how necessary?

You can pick up a valve gasket kit from your local parts store for 25-30$. the only special tool needed is a lift to get the lower back cover bolt. Pain in the back side. I just did this job my self a few weeks ago.
