2000 Subaru Outback 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Manual

Can we take a 2000 engine out of this car and replace it with a 1997 subaru engine? Both engines are 2.2 and look the the same and are manaul shift. Thank you very much. kharris

go to a gm dealer and explain your situation, they will cut you a new one, but you will have to prove the car is yours by providing the registration etc.
