I own a '93 Subaru L-Series Sportswagon (OHC) 1800cc manual.
When I'm driving up a steep hill the engine will start missing and the car will jerk back and forward and quickly lose then gain power every half second or so until I reach the top. It doesn't seem to have trouble unless it is under a heavy load - for example straight sections of road / downhills it seems fine.
I've overhauled the carby, checked the fuel filter, checked the fuel pump for correct pressure, replaced the spark plug leads, and checked (but not replaced) the rotor button and distributor cap. None of this has fixed the problem.
Can anyone give me any suggestions as to what steps to take next? Any info at all would be appreciated as this is really frustrating me.
Thanks.
