My 1988 subaru GL with fuel injection has a problem starting in the morning, especially if it's cold outside. After the needle gets above the "c" on the tempurature gauge then it runs fine with no stalling. Before that I have to rev the engine whenever i slow down. Thanks

im going to go with the good old coolant temperature sensor causing your problem.

also check your IAC module and make sure the throttle body is clean!

ECT resistance can be checked with an ohm meter, at 68 degrees it should be 2000-3000 ohms, There is a cold start injector on this engine, remove and clean out any carbon, reinstall and see how it runs...

would also like to add on what merlin says about the temp and the resistance values.

assuming your IAT sensor is good you can compare the resistance between the two and they should be very similar.
