When I start the car or give it some throttle, it makes a quick but light clicking sound. I drive in a very cold area right now (upstate NY), about 30F everyday. It makes the sound when I go out to start the car and when i go to start driving, if I give gas. It only does the sound through the first 2 gears at a very audible level, but they are there for the last three, just very lightly to the point it doesn't even sound like its there for fifth. But it does come back if I have to stop and then go again, through first up until I speed up for third again. I've had a few people tell me that I'm going to need to rebuild the engine because it's something with the rods and I've heard that it was just a simple piston slap, which apparently is a problem not worth repairing. I don't know what to believe and I personally wouldn't be able to make a distinct call on it. Although I have noticed lately that it has been getting lighter, even with the low gears, when the temperature has been higher.
Also, as of very recently, I noticed a sort of whistling or whirring noise when I give throttle of over 4500RPMS in second or third gears.
